Let’s Talk: Economic Development & Redevelopment with Jasi Edwards for Mayor

Join Councilwoman At-Large and Mayoral Candidate Jasi Mikae Edwards for an important community conversation on the future of Economic Development and Redevelopment in Trenton.
Trenton has tremendous potential, but too many vacant storefronts, abandoned properties, underutilized commercial corridors, and missed opportunities continue to hold our city back. As New Jersey’s Capital City, we should have a thriving downtown, vibrant neighborhood business districts, a revitalized waterfront, and an economy that creates opportunities for residents and businesses alike.
This policy session will focus on strategies to:
• Support small businesses and entrepreneurs
• Create pathways from vendors and startups to brick-and-mortar businesses
• Revitalize downtown Trenton and commercial corridors throughout the city
• Address vacant and abandoned commercial properties
• Expand Trenton’s tax base and create jobs
• Redevelop the Delaware River waterfront and Route 29 corridor
• Build around Mercer County Community College as a true downtown campus district
• Attract investment, businesses, and economic opportunity to our Capital City
This is an opportunity for residents, business owners, entrepreneurs, property owners, community leaders, students, and stakeholders to share ideas, ask questions, and help shape the future of Trenton.
The best solutions come from bringing people together and having honest conversations about the challenges we face and the opportunities ahead.
