Let’s Read Oak Park Featuring Janay Brown Wood reading “This Hair Belongs”

Let’s Read Oak Park is a monthly youth literacy program designed to inspire a love of reading in children ages 5–12. On May 9, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 AM, we’re excited to welcome author Janay Brown-Wood for a special reading of This Hair Belongs.

Children will enjoy an engaging story-time experience, participate in a hands-on activity connected to the book, and leave with a free book of their own. This program creates a fun, welcoming space where young readers can build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong connection to books.
