Let’s Get Digging! Rain Garden Planting at City Hall
About this Event
Join the City of Groton and the Eastern Connecticut Conservation District (ECCD) for a hands-on community volunteer event to help plant new rain gardens in front of City Hall.
Rain gardens may look pretty, but they’re also hard at work capturing stormwater, reducing runoff, filtering pollution, and helping protect our local streams, rivers, and Long Island Sound.
Volunteers will help plant native plants and support this important nature-based solution for healthier watersheds. These gardens will also provide habitat for pollinators and local wildlife while helping improve water quality in the community.
No experience is needed. Just bring your energy, comfortable clothes, and a willingness to get your hands a little dirty for a good cause.
