Would you like to rake, chop chicken heads and stumps out of the ground for three hours? If so this is the trail day for you! In all seriousness it is hard work but any help is appreciated. If you are like me when I used to help other places it is always cool to think I actually had a hand in that. I am still pretty blown away by the amount of people from our last trail day and it greatly relieved my burden out there. I know it will be hard to replicate that day.
The mission is to knock out quite a few reroutes on Green trail just east of the parking lot. A lot of the trail is reused but there will be new connectors all over. We have walked the trail determining what is still in good shape, used a topography map to make a plan and have just started trying to flag reroutes at the trail.
Tools needed are metal rakes and loppers. I have my own personal tools I bring out to help and a few from OMBA.
Personal protective equipment long pants, boots, gloves and eye protection if you plan on using my power tools.
Hope to see you out! We will continue to knock out big chunks of reroutes over winter and spring.
