Letters Live, the much-loved celebration of the power of written correspondence, returns for an unforgettable evening in support of Arts Emergency. Known for its engaging performances of remarkable letters from around the world and across history, Letters Live will once again bring together a unique and powerful night.
Since its debut in 2013, the series has featured captivating readings from the likes of Olivia Colman, Elif Shafak, Stephen Fry, Adwoa Aboah, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Geri Halliwell, with musical guests including Thom Yorke, Sampha and Anoushka Shankar. Whether humorous or heart-wrenching, the letters span continents, centuries and emotions, offering moments of laughter, tears and reflection.
Arts Emergency is a grassroots movement that opens doors for underrepresented young people with creative ambitions by connecting them to each other and to creative professionals.
Founded in 2013 by comedian Josie Long and activist Neil Griffiths, the organisation has helped over 1800 young people in the UK access and thrive in creativity and culture by providing a long-term combined programme of mentorship, networking and real-world opportunities.
