Saturday, June 13th, 2026
2:30pm - 5:30pm

We will be celebrating Pride month and welcoming all participants who identify as a part of the 2SLGBT+ community to collaborate and have fun printing with wood type. Let's celebrate the community we make together.
--

Letterpress Club is designed to remove barriers that prevent people from accessing the Vandercook press. Through this club, we will explore all the fun ways to play with letterpress and relief on this beautiful press while building an inclusive community. Cleopatria will facilitate printing and demonstrations, but each project will be a collaborative experience. The work we create will be made together, with love.
Previous themes include: Collaborative poster; Season's Greetings; Print as Protest; Black History Month; NUMB3ERS, Collaborative Poem for National Poetry Month
About the Instructor: Cleopatria Peterson (they/them) has a multidisciplinary arts practice that explores the intersectionality of their identities as a Black, non-binary, transgender, and crip artist through narrative, printmaking, illustration, and education. They are a member of the Crip Arts Collective, have exhibited work at the Canadian Textile Museum, and are one of the co-founders of Old Growth Press. They graduated from the Cross Disciplinary Art: Publications program at OCAD University as the medal winner for their class (2020) and also hold a Bachelor of Design from TMU’s Fashion Communication program.

Cleopatria believes everyone should have the chance to play on a Vandercook press and touch lead and wood type. They have made it their mission to break down barriers to letterpress access. Join them for a fun, hands-on experience as we play with type and print up a storm.

This workshop series is aimed at making experiences with letterpress printmaking financially accessible. If it is within your means, please consider enrolling in our Print Play series or other Print Courses instead.
