Let's Walk - Gloucester & Sharpness Canal (Hardwicke)

About this Event

Get active and enjoy walking by water on this free 3 hour guided walk.

Led by our lovely local volunteers this is a great way to be active, meet people and spend time by water.

Starting and finishing outside the Pilot Inn, Hardwicke, this circular, 4.5 mile walk (approx 3 hours) will explore the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal between Sellars & Rea bridges as well as climb Hockly Hill to get some wonderful views towards the Cotswold escarpment and the river Severn. Whilst the route follows recognised footpaths the surface will be muddy and uneven at times, and includes a number of stiles.

It's all about meeting people so come along on your own, or bring a friend, and stay for a cup of tea afterwards if you can.

Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead. Please wear comfortable shoes, weather appropriate clothing and bring a bottle of water.

The best bus route from Gloucester city centre is the no. 12 with the stop at Elmgrove Road West.

Please book one time slot per person. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked slot. These sessions are designed for adults and for children from seven years old upwards. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways .

Parents and Guardians are required to accompany their children on this walk.
