Access to reliable, affordable childcare is a workforce issue — and a business issue.Across Virginia, employers report that childcare challenges affect hiring, retention, and productivity. When parents reduce hours, decline promotions, or leave the workforce due to care gaps, it impacts our local economy and talent pipeline.
To better understand what families in our community are experiencing, we’re partnering with Minus 9 to 5 , a collective impact initiative at ODU's Virginia Health Sciences, to conduct a short community survey ahead of a local discuss about childcare on April 25, 2026, at Windsor Town Center.
