12:30 PM - RECONVENE to share our work, make introductions, announcements and take a group photo. (Location to be determined the day of event)

PLEASE NOTE: If you are sketching INSIDE the library, please refrain from using easels, tripods, stools, or wet media. Pack a light kit and kindly adhere to the following:
-use of quiet materials, maintaining a peaceful and respectful presence.
-be mindful of library patrons and staff, ensuring our activities do not disturb or obstruct their space or movement.
-leave no trace behind; pack out any materials brought in.
If you are sketching OUTDOORS, please follow your established practice being mindful of the surrounding environment.

ABOUT THE LOCATION:
The Huntington Beach Central Library is a beautiful building nestled within Huntington Beach Central Park. The library’s roots go back to 1909, when the Women’s Club established the first library in Huntington Beach. Out of a need to serve the growing community, the library moved to its current location in Huntington Beach Central Park in 1975. The award-winning architect Dion Neutra designed the library building, which features an open and light-filled floor plan, spacious reading decks, and even indoor fountains.
The surrounding park offers a tranquil escape and a wealth of sketching inspiration. Whether you’d like to capture the library’s unique architecture, the park’s natural beauty, or event the surrounding cityscape, there’s something for everyone.

BRING:
All skill levels are welcome whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting to explore your creativity. Bring your favorite sketching media, an easel if desired and maybe a folding chair or stool if you need to sit. If you’re new to sketching, your equipment can be as simple as a pencil and a sketchbook!
