After the national march on 5 October, we're all mobilising again on Thursday 23 October in front of the European Summit of Heads of State, to ensure that the 27 Member States respect their climate commitments and prevent disasters instead of intervening too late.
The 2040 climate objectives, a step towards carbon neutrality by 2050, will be at the agenda of this summit and called into question at a time when climate disruption is intensifying before our very eyes, already at an enormous human and economic cost.

While all records for fires, temperatures and drought have been broken this summer, a majority of European governments are questioning their environmental measures in favour of social austerity and exploding military spending.

Today, under pressure from lobbies and conservative governments, everything is being called into question: the 2040 climate objectives, the weakening of laws on nature restoration and corporate duty of care, backtracking on the 2035 ban on internal combustion cars, the abandonment of plans to limit pesticides, GMOs and water pollution, the EU-Mercosur Deal , the postponement of the anti deforestation law , a possible return to fossil fuels, insufficient resources for a just transition, etc.

Après la marche nationale du 5 octobre on se remobilise tous le jeudi 23 octobre devant le Sommet Européen des chefs d'états pour que les 27 respectent leurs engagements climatiques, le Pacte Vert Européen et préviennent les catastrophes au lieu d'intervenir trop tard.
Les objectifs climat 2040 étape vers la neutralité carbone en 2050 sont à l'agenda de ce sommet et vont être rediscutés voire remis en question alors que le dérèglement climatique s'intensifie sous nos yeux avec déjà un coût humain et économique énorme

Alors que tous les records d'incendies, de températures et de sècheresses ont été battus cet été, une majorité de gouvernements européens remettent en question leurs mesures environnementales et privilégient l'austérité sociale et l'explosion des dépenses militaires.

Aujourd'hui sous la pression des lobbies et gouvernements conservateurs : tout est remis en question : objectifs climat 2040, affaiblissement des lois sur la restauration de la nature et du devoir de vigilance des entreprises, marche arrière sur l'interdiction des voitures thermiques en 2035 , abandon des plans de limitation des pesticides, des OGM et de la pollution de l'eau, le Traité EU Mercosur, le report de la Loi anti-déforestation, un retour possible des énergies fossiles, des moyens insuffisants pour une transition juste...

Na de nationale mars van 5 oktober komen we op donderdag 23 oktober om 18 uur opnieuw bijeen in Schuman, voor de Europese top van staatshoofden, om ervoor te zorgen dat de 27 lidstaten hun klimaatverplichtingen nakomen en rampen voorkomen in plaats van te laat in te grijpen.De klimaatdoelstellingen voor 2040, een stap op weg naar koolstofneutraliteit in 2050, zullen opnieuw worden besproken en ter discussie worden gesteld, nu de klimaatverandering zich voor onze ogen versnelt en nu al enorme menselijke en economische kosten met zich meebrengt.

Terwijl deze zomer alle records op het gebied van branden, temperaturen en droogte zijn gebroken, stelt een meerderheid van de Europese regeringen hun milieumaatregelen ter discussie en geven ze de voorkeur aan sociale bezuinigingen en een explosieve stijging van de militaire uitgaven.
