Let's Paint a Galaxy with Nancy McKinnon

Create a stunning, one-of-a-kind galaxy painting with someone special in this two-part workshop led by Janesville artist Nancy McKinnon, part of the Me and My Big Child/Adult Workshop Series at Rotary Botanical Gardens.
This is a two-part workshop. Participants must be able to attend both sessions.
During Session 1, you'll explore the creative process behind acrylic pouring using the popular "flip cup" technique. Layers of vibrant light and dark paints are combined and poured to create stunning, unpredictable abstract patterns. Watching the colors flow and blend together is one of the most exciting parts of this dynamic art form.
During Session 2, you'll select your favorite areas of the painting to transform into "positive planets." Nancy will demonstrate techniques for adding highlights, shadows, and detail using acrylic paints and pens to bring each planet to life. You'll leave with a finished, one-of-a-kind work of art and lasting memories created together.
Seats are limited to 10 children to ensure Nancy can guide each participant through both sessions.
