Let's Paddle Haverhill! - Plum Island Sound

Our September event will find us paddling the waters of beautiful Plum Island Sound.

We will launch our boats from the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is a wildlife sanctuary encompassing most of Plum Island and is a vital resting and feeding habitat for migratory birds. Ken Taylor of Plum Island Kayak will join us and share his extensive knowledge of the area.

Navigate to 6 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport, MA. There is a $5 entry fee per vehicle. If you have a National Parks Pass entry is free. The launch site is opposite the first parking lot. You can expect some powerboat traffic and the resulting wakes, as well as mild tidal currents. This has long been a favorite destination for Plum Island Kayaks clients.
