Let's Hike at the Lawrence River Trails

Join Compass Point, home of Dirty Girl Adventures, for some time on the trail! Join us for a morning on the Lawrence River Front Trails to breathe in the heady scents of spring. We will hike for about 2 hours, approximately 4 miles through the shade of giant cottonwood trees.

Time on the trail isn't just a fun activity. The benefits of getting outside are backed by research. Spending just one hour interacting with nature has been shown to improve memory span and attention levels by 20%. Time outside can lower your cortisol levels, reducing stress, and when you take the time to connect with nature, you also cultivate awe, and that brings optimism and positivity into your heart. WHO DOESN'T NEED A LITTLE BIT OF THAT? Come outside with us!

We highly reccommed use of bug repellent and encourage the use of Permethrine on your clothing to prevent ticks and tick bourne illnesses.

When: Saturday, April 18th, 2026

Check-in: 10:30 am at the Lawrence MTB Trails on 8th (Specific directions will be provided to registrants before the hike.

Wear/Bring: Water, snacks, Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes/boots with traction, hat, water, snacks, trekking poles.

Post-Hike Social: We plan to venture to Johnny's Tavern for some lunch after the hike. Please plan to join us!

Note: We may change the location of the hike based on specific trail conditions at the time of the hike.

What are you paying for? Dirty Girl Adventures, LLC will organize the event, provide a guide, support on the trail, and docent information throughout the event. We will monitor the weather and conditions to ensure that our event and participants are safe. Our knowledgeable and informed guide service includes a leading guide and a sweep guide during the hike. Trail support including: first aid, knowledge of the environment and locale, safety monitoring, pacing, interpretive information on the environment and location.

In case you are wondering about our refund policy, refunds are given up to two weeks before the date of the event, only when the refund is requested in an email directed to [email protected]. After that, there are no refunds. Dirty Girl Adventures may cancel an event due to weather or conditions. Everyone will receive a refund if that is the reason for the cancellation. We will paddle and hike in cool, rainy, or snowy conditions. Cancellation only occurs in severe weather or other dangerous conditions.
