No partner needed! Learn community and partner dance styles in this series of classes designed for beginners. Registration is not required. For adults only. ***This month we will have a guest instructor, Tiffany from Tribal Evolution Belly Dancing Company!Adults & older teens are welcome, any gender, any body size. This low-impact style of belly dance is perfect for beginners, and there is no jumping, floorwork, or spins. There will be instruction on posture and foundational movements in the style, perhaps with a couple of improvisational moves if there is time. Students should wear comfy workout clothes, socks, bare feet, or ballet/jazz shoes. We will have some extra hip scarves to loan out for the class.
Tribal Evolution's style of belly dance is an American invention, based on folkloric dances from around the world. Primarily of Middle Eastern influence, but also with aspects of flamenco & dances of India. It is a vocabulary of dance moves with cues, and the leader chooses each move on the spot, a structured improvisation.
