The Lethbridge Run for Recovery is a new annual community event that brings together the Lethbridge Recovery Community and the broader Southern Alberta community in a visible celebration of recovery, connection, healthy living, family, and hope.
Recovery has always been built in community. It grows when people show up for one another, families reconnect, businesses invest in healthier communities, organizations work together, and neighbours stand alongside those rebuilding their lives. The Lethbridge Recovery Community is a reflection of that shared commitment. It includes people in recovery, families, peers, professionals, volunteers, community partners, businesses, and supporters who believe recovery is possible and that stronger recovery communities create stronger communities for everyone.
Held the day before International Overdose Awareness Day, the Lethbridge Run for Recovery provides an opportunity to come together in hope, reduce stigma, celebrate recovery, honour those we have lost, and demonstrate that healing happens through connection.
This inaugural event has been created through collaboration between Southern Alcare Manor and Fresh Start Recovery, in alignment with the Alberta Recovery Model and with support from the Government of Alberta. Together, we are building more than a run. We are bringing the Lethbridge Recovery Community together while strengthening recovery across Southern Alberta.
Whether you walk, run, volunteer, cheer from the sidelines, or become a sponsor, you are helping strengthen the connections that make the Lethbridge Recovery Community possible while demonstrating that recovery flourishes when communities stand together.
