LET US BE THE JUDGE
About this Event
Most people vote for president, governor, or mayor—but skip researching the judges on their ballot.
Yet judges make decisions that can impact families, housing, public safety, civil rights, small businesses, and the everyday lives of people throughout our community.
Let Us Be the Judge is a nonpartisan Community Judicial Forum designed to help voters move beyond campaign signs and sample ballots. Hear directly from judicial candidates, learn about their qualifications and judicial philosophy, and ask the questions that matter most to you.
Whether this is your first election or you've voted for years, you'll leave with a better understanding of the judicial races and greater confidence when you cast your ballot.
What to Expect
- Meet candidates running for judicial office.
- Hear directly from the candidates in a moderated forum.
- Learn what judges do and why these elections matter.
- Ask questions that help you become a more informed voter.
- Connect with neighbors committed to civic engagement.
Judicial elections are some of the most important—and least understood—races on the ballot. Don't leave one of your most powerful decisions to chance.
Join the Black Liberation Alliance Movement (BLAM) on Saturday, August 1, at 4:00 PM at St. Paul AME Church in Miami for an evening of civic education, community dialogue, and informed participation.
Because an informed voter is an empowered voter.
