Let It Be — Full Moon Eclipse Beach Gathering
About this Event
Meeting point
We'll meet at the Jericho Beach Pier map pin at 1300 Discovery St. I'll post the exact gathering spot in the event comments before the event.
There's something about being near the water at night that makes people a little more honest.
On Thursday, August 27, we'll gather at the beach for a relaxed evening of reflection, stillness, connection, and a little bit of wonder as we watch the Full Moon rise and move into a partial lunar eclipse.
This is an invitation to pause, breathe, notice what's already clear, and maybe put down a few things you've been carrying.
The Full Moon peaks at 9:18 PM, just a few minutes after the lunar eclipse reaches its maximum. We'll use the natural rhythm of the evening as a frame for reflection:
What am I trying too hard to fix?
What am I ready to stop carrying?
And what becomes possible when I make a little more space
🌊 What the evening will feel like
6:00–7:00 PM — Arrive, settle, connect
We'll keep things relaxed at first: beach social time, snacks and drinks, games, optional swimming, and easy conversation. No need to show up "in ritual mode." Come as you are. Meet people. Walk around. Sit by the water. Swim if you want. Have a snack. Let the evening land.
7:00 - 8:00PM - We'll gather more intentionally as the eclipse approaches.
We'll begin with some gentle breathwork and a guided meditation focused on presence, release, and surrender.
Rather than trying to solve anything, we'll explore the tension between what we can control and what we can't—and what happens when we give ourselves permission not to have every answer.
Then we'll journal.
You'll be invited to reflect on questions like:
- What am I trying too hard to fix?
- Where have I confused control with responsibility?
- What feeling or uncertainty am I trying to avoid?
- What am I carrying because it once protected me, but no longer serves me?
- If I didn't need an answer tonight, what would I want to admit?
- What might become possible if I made a little more space?
🌘 A small release ritual
At our last gathering, we burned and buried pieces of paper with things we wanted to leave behind.
This time, we're doing something different.
You'll receive two prompts:
1. Something I'm willing to stop carrying.
2. What becomes possible when I make space for that?
We won't be burning or burying anything because you don't always need to destroy something to stop carrying it.
The point this time is simply to be honest with yourself about what you're ready to put down and curious about what might have room to emerge when you do.
🌕 And then... we watch
The Full Moon reaches its peak at 9:18 PM, around the same time the eclipse reaches its maximum.
We'll pause together and simply watch.
You don't need to believe that the Moon causes anything for this to be meaningful. You can think of the eclipse as science, symbolism, spiritualism, or simply a beautiful thing happening in the sky.
For a few minutes, we'll just let it be something to witness.
And perhaps ask:
What if I don't need to become someone different tonight?
What if I just need to see what is already here?
After the formal portion, you're welcome to stay, talk, walk along the beach, or simply watch the eclipse for as long as you'd like.
