Join Lest We Forget as they commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, the largest seaborne invasion in history. Experience the historic reenactment of two World War II battles: The Battle of Normandy (9am) and the Battle of Saipan (1pm) at Tiscornia Beach on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Plus, there will be fun for the whole family on Saturday, June 22 from 9am-5pm and Sunday, June 23 from 9am-3pm at the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport, at 1123 Territorial Road, Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Enjoy helicopters all weekend at the airport?! The smaller civilian helicopters charge $50 and will be available Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-3. The 369 Huey (Vietnam Helicopter) will give rides on Friday 2-4 pm, Saturday 10-5 pm and Sunday 10-3 pm. If you join Lest We Forget for $100, the 369 Huey helicopter ride is FREE!

* 9:00am - The reenactment of the Battle of Normandy begins with a Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra performance, parachute flag drop, and German High Command ground inspection.
* Beach Assault Reenactment: As planes fly overhead, simulated bombs provided will prepare the beach for the assault.
* Higgins Boats, LVT-2 Buffalos, and DUKW landing craft as reenactors storm the beach.
* Historical Interpretation: Military Historian Bill Sheets will provide detailed commentary and facts throughout the day.
* 11am-12pm: Flamethrower demonstration by Katie Gromlovits and WWII stories.
* 8am-2pm: Multiple food trucks will be on-site at Tiscornia
* 1pm - 2pm: The 2nd reenactment will take place at Tiscornia Beach, The Battle of Saipan, followed by an Iwo Jima flag raising.

Free Admission and no RSVPs required for everyone else. The event is free and family-focused, made possible through fundraisers, sponsorships, grants, and donations.

No vehicles are allowed in the Tiscornia Beach parking lot. Free shuttle buses from nearby lots will be available. Wheelchair accessible parking on Momany Drive. Direct access available for motorcycles, bicycles, and walk-ins.

Join Lest We Forget: Annual membership is $10, lifetime membership is $50, and free for those over 80. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport.
