Performing outdoors on theYARD live music venue stage at NOVA LIVE; Leroy Burks of the Voodoo Whiskey Band was born to the salt flats in the small rural town of Rockport, Texas. From a young age, Leroy found his way to the front of the stage often performing in musicals, holding the lead role 14 times. While in High School, Leroy was awarded his letter as a freshman with both All-State Choir Honors and Theater. In Lou of college, in which Leroy was offered a Full Scholarship to Major in Performing Arts, he enlisted into the United States Army in 2004. Leroy is still currently serving in the United States Army.
Leroy has opened up for Major Country acts, including Toby Keith, Zach Bryan and the widely popular National Act, "The Band Steele". While in the Army, Leroy continued performing with local theater groups. In 2006, he won the Military Idol competition. He is a published Nashville Songwriter with over 40 songs written. His music can be found online, played by other cover artist, including the infamous Guitars Tabs website.
