The world is drunk on power, so drunk it trips and stumbles every day into violence, hate, division, and sorrow. We see it on the news, we hear it in your homes, and it seeps into our own hearts. Yet the Church drinks from a different cup, the cup of salvation that came to us through the crucifixion of power.Jesus did more with His hands and feet nailed to wood than we do in all our running and doing. By His weakness, the surrender of His rights and His inactivity in the grave, He overthrew the prince and powers of this age. That hidden victory gives His Church a backwards kind of power, a crucified power that triumphs more through faith, suffering, obedience, and death than the world can imagine.
God images this crucified power throughout Scripture. As we study it, we will learn how to bear the power of the cross with Him.
