In the 10th Century, Vikings sailed the Atlantic and came to North America in an as-then unprecedented journey of European exploration. This fall, please join the Barony of Calafia in celebrating our combined heritages at our annual Leif Erickson Tournament!SCHEDULE:
7am - Site Opens
9am - Opening Court (at Their Excellencies' discretion)
10am - Lists Close
3pm - Closing Court (at Their Excellencies' discretion)
4pm - Event Off Site
5pm - Site closes
REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Adult Event Registration $25, Adult Member Discount Event Registration $15, Youth (under 18) guests of the barony. Cash and checks accepted at gate. Please make checks payable to “SCA, Inc./Barony of Calafia”.
TOURNAMENT FORMATS: Armored fighters can participate in the usual Mad Dog tournamen, with both Rapier and Cut and Thrust formats to be announced at the tournament. In time-honored tradition, all forms (including Youth and disposed spectators!) are invited to play on our famed ice floes in the afternoon.
A&S: There will be a Populace Choice Arts & Sciences Contest, and the category is Works in Progress! Bring out (and maybe dust off, in some cases) your WIPs to show us what you're working on! Any state of unfinished is acceptable, and it doesn't matter how long it's been since you started. No documentation is required!
LUNCH: We also wish to honor the indigenous people of the land we call Calafia, so Meistresse Sabyna of Aydon has agreed to provide lunch as snack boxes inspired by historical foods of the Kumayaay people. There is a suggested donation of $7 per person.
SITE INFORMATION/RESTRICTIONS: This is a dry site; no alcoholic beverages are allowed. Parking is limited, so please carpool if you can! Folks with ample wagons are invited to park on adjacent streets; early arrivals will find spots onsite, but they will likely fill up early.
