What is LEGO® Serious Play®?
When most people think of LEGO, they think creativity, fun, and building something great.
What many people don't realize is that LEGO bricks are also used by organizations around the world to improve communication, leadership, team alignment, and problem-solving through LEGO® Serious Play®.
When team communication breaks down, the hidden costs to your business are staggering: missed deadlines, misaligned goals, and a toxic "all talk" culture that breeds frustration rather than results. Without a clear exchange of ideas and emotions, leaders often find their intended messages lost in a sea of assumptions and emotional triggers, leaving staff feeling unheard and disconnected. Our Serious Play® Communication Training offers a radical departure from static lectures by providing a dedicated "practice field" where your team can bridge the gap between intent and understanding.
Workshop Preview/What to Expect!
Through hands-on building challenges, participants externalize invisible barriers and navigate healthy conflict in real-time, moving past defensiveness into collective action. By the end of this session, your retreat attendees won't just have discussed teamwork; they will have built the psychological safety and trust required to transform individual effort into a high-performance, unified culture.
Rather than another PowerPoint presentation, participants work through hands-on exercises that uncover hidden assumptions and collaboratively create practical solutions.
These sessions are designed around real challenges:
• Communication breakdowns
• Team misalignment
• Leadership and culture challenges
• Burnout and change fatigue
• Strategic planning that never translates into action
Meet Tim Croll
Tim Croll is a specialist in Serious Play Methodology. His extensive experience in Corporations, Small Business Ownership, E-commerce and even the appearance on LEGO Masters with FOX has given him the ability to work with others in the area of personal development and team-building.
All of this is through Serious Play activities that allow for a practical application of how to live out the lessons. Tim created the Serious Play Leadership Framework, a template that leaders are using to increase their influence and build stronger teams.
But what sets him apart is his ability to communicate a complex business strategy through Serious Play activities into a step-by-step action plan. It is the connection and sharing on a personal level that creates relevance to his message for leadership and strategy.
Tim has been certified as a coach in AGS Conquer, Kidlead, and holds a master’s degree in leadership development. He teaches and coaches weekly for several groups and writes for large publications.
