It's a week filled with arts and crafts, but with LEGO!
LEGO Arts and Crafts camp is a unique and innovative summer program that combines the creativity of building with LEGO bricks with traditional arts and craft activities.
Participants in this camp have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic mediums while incorporating LEGO elements into their unique creations.
Campers engage in hands-on projects that allow them to experiment with different techniques, materials, and tools to express their artistic vision. From building LEGO sculptures to designing mixed media art pieces, campers can unleash their creativity and imagination in a supportive and inspiring environment. Arts and Crafts camp is a perfect blend of artistry and construction, providing campers with a fun and enriching experience that nurtures their artistic talents and fosters a love for creative expression. Join us at Arts and Crafts camp for a summer filled with art, creativity, and endless possibilities!
Campers will take home various art projects and one camper created LEGO project.
Please register using the first day of camp June 10.
The recommended age range for LEGO-based camps at Bricks & Minifigs - Glen Carbon is 7-15. However, there are prerequisite skills that are more important than age. A younger child with these skills may enjoy these camps, and a child in the above age range may not enjoy the camp if they struggle with these skills:
Camp participants should be able to fully engage in creative and collaborative activities. Participants should be able to accept small failures as part of the creative process without quitting or becoming aggressive.
Camp participants should have the motor skills to build basic structures and to build more complex structures with support. Participants should have the ability to focus on a project for 30 minutes and to follow instructions when given. Participants should be able to problem-solve, think critically about design choices, and collaborate effectively with their peers to work on group projects.
Overall, children attending a camp should have a passion for building and creating with LEGO, as well as a willingness to learn and explore new techniques and ideas.
