About this Event
Come join us for a fun and interactive event that is geared towards young boys, introducing them to STEM concepts through Lego building. Youth and their parent, caregiver or mentor are given Harry Potter Lego kits to assemble.
The short program will include remarks from Franklin County Commissioners and include a Harry Potter book excerpt reading. Pizza and a free gift will be provided to participants.
Thanks to the generous support of the Corvette Club, each youth will come away with a free lego kit, drawstring bag, and T-shirt.
Refreshments will be provided.
About Us:
Boy Genius is an initiative to bring positive male role models into the pre-K classroom to read and deliver STEM activities. It lies under Future Ready Five as a component to the RISE early learning program: https://futurereadyfive.org/franklin-county-rise/
The goal is to give boys, especially, an opportunity to engage with male role models which they typically lack as less then 3% of pre-K teachers are men. Although the initiative is geared toward Pre-K, the participation will be open to older boys and their mentors as well (age range 6-12).
