About the Community Health Innovation Seminar Series
The VelocityTX and Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas partnership focuses on addressing social determinants of health (SDOH) through a comprehensive three-tier program for innovation and entrepreneurship. Our initiative starts with 10 free educational sessions exploring how businesses across all sectors can impact where people live, learn, work, and play to improve community health outcomes.
Entrepreneurs then have two pathways forward: early-stage innovators can join our startup workshop to develop and validate their business concepts, while companies with established products or services can apply for our intensive accelerator program. This structured approach supports ventures at every stage – from initial concept to market-ready solutions – fostering sustainable businesses that address SDOH challenges across education, housing, transportation, food systems, workforce development, and beyond.
