Nestled on the shores of Lake Martin in Tallapoosa County, Wind Creek State Park spans 1,444 acres of forest and waterfront. As a key stop on Alabama’s Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail, it's home to diverse bird species, including Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Summer Tanagers, Chimney Swifts, Red-headed Woodpeckers, and Great Blue Herons. Celebrate Alabama’s avian biodiversity with the first annual Legacy Lakeside Birdfest, hosted by Wind Creek State Park and made possible by a grant generously funded by Legacy, Partners in Environmental Education. Enjoy a day of fun-filled birding activities, games, food vendors, and live raptor meet-and-greets, all against the backdrop of beautiful Lake Martin!Date: Saturday, December 7th, 2024

10:00-10:30am: Welcome and Legacy Acknowledgement (Wind Creek Field)
10:30am-2:00pm: Food Vendors onsite; live raptor meet-and-greet; Mobile Classroom Touch Table; Bird Migration Game (Wind Creek Field)
10:30am-12:00am: Birding Walk with Alabama Audubon (Meet at Wind Creek Field)
12:00pm-1:00pm: Live Raptor Program with Raptor Ridge (Wind Creek Clubhouse)
1:00pm-2:00pm: Birds of a Feather: Admiring Alabama Birds and Attracting them to your Yard with Scottie Jackson and Dylan Ogle (Wind Creek Clubhouse)
