Leg up for Liver Cancer - 5K Fundraiser

This event is inspired by my close friend, Mia, a freshman at Marquette and New Trier grad. She has been fighting liver cancer for the past four years. She is truly the strongest person I know and I am so lucky to have her in my life. Unfortunately, liver cancer research is underfunded despite being the 3rd leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. All proceeds will be donated to the Pediatric Liver Center at Lurie Children's and the City of Hope Liver Cancer Program.

DAY, TIME, AND LOCATION: Sunday, June 9 at 8 am. Everyone will meet at Indian Hill Park (behind Indian Hill train station) This is a megaphone start, with no timing devices.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The entire run/ walk will take place on the Green Bay Trail. Participants will climb up some steps to access the GBT and then head north for 1.5 miles (around Eldorado St.) and loop back towards the finish line at Indian Hill Park.

TICKETS: Available through June 9

Adults: $20

Students (highschool and younger): $15

Children 5 and under: Free

PARKING: Parking is available on Wilson St., Winnetka Ave., and the Indian Hill train lot

Participants can enjoy refreshments and snacks after the race. There will also be a raffle with gift cards from some local businesses. Please register and tell your friends and family to join us for a fun and meaningful activity!
