2025 Oktoberfest People’s Choice Home Brew Competition Saturday, September 27 | 1:30–3:30 p.m. | Green Street Market Lawn
Cheers to great brews and even better vibes! The Lee’s Summit Chamber is thrilled to bring back one of Oktoberfest’s most beloved events — the People’s Choice Home Brew Competition — now pouring on the brand-new Green Street Market lawn!
There are two ways to get involved - sign up as a brewer or as a taste-tester!

Brewer Registration Info:

Registered participants will serve up samples of their best brews at a tasting event from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 on the covered pavilion lawn.
There will be a total of 5 winners being recognized:
• Best Brewer - People’s Choice (1st, 2nd and 3rd place)
• Brewer’s Choice
• Best Showmanship
Attendees who purchase a tasting glass will gain admittance to the event and cast their vote for the top brewers. A small panel of judges will determine a showmanship winner, and our brewers will be asked to vote amongst themselves to determine the Brewer's Choice winner.
Brewer's Choice will be awarded with a traveling trophy, and some major bragging rights!
Brewer Requirements:
• Must supply a minimum 5-gallon keg (or bottle equivalent) for the tasting
• Beer must fit in allotted space- no limit to number of beers
• Must keep pours to sample-size; full servings will not be permitted
• Beer produced/made at a commercial facility is prohibited
• Sales & advertising prohibited; however, signage promoting your home brewery (not your business) is allowed
• Must have means to keep beer chilled. Ice will be provided
• Must have at least 1 person (limit 2) to serve your beer throughout the 2-hour tasting event
• No outside food & drink (other than the beer being supplied for contest) allowed
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older at time of event
Set-up:
Brewers may check-in starting at 12:00 p.m. Saturday morning.
Each brewer will have up to 6 feet of space to display their home brew(s). Tables will be provided.

This is not a sanctioned competition. The required beer product submission serves as the entry fee to the contest. Spaces are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and limited to the first 35 applicants. Event takes place rain or shine. Participating teams will receive two complimentary tasting glasses and brat coupons.
