📚 Lecture: "Circadian Rhythm: Your Inner Clock That Runs Your Day"
🎤 Speaker: Dr. David Benavides, MD
Why do some people spring out of bed at dawn while others hit their stride at midnight? Why can you get “enough” sleep and still feel off?
The answer is often timing.
In this lecture, Dr. David Benavides explores the science of circadian rhythm — your body’s internal clock that shapes sleep, energy, mood, metabolism, and cognitive performance. We’ll unpack why night owls and early birds exist, how modern schedules disrupt our natural timing, and how simple shifts in light exposure, meals, and movement can help your body work with its clock instead of against it.
No supplements. No gadgets. Just better timing.
Dr. David Benavides is faculty at Harvard Medical School and a double board-certified Sleep Medicine physician in the Division of Sleep and Circadian Disorders at Mass General Brigham. His work focuses on evidence-based sleep and circadian rhythm interventions to improve cognitive performance, metabolic health, and cardiovascular outcomes. He has lectured nationally, served as faculty for major medical conferences, and his research has been featured in Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News & World Report.
