🧠 Lecture: "Understanding Wine: Taste, Palate & Flavor"

🎤 Speaker: Professor Torrey Grant

From what happens in the vineyard to the winery to what goes on in your mouth, what makes wine such an intriguing beverage?!

Join us for an engaging evening as Professor Torrey Grant demystifies the world of wine, guiding you through how grapes, terroir, and winemaking techniques shape what you experience in the glass. You’ll explore how taste and aroma work together, why certain wines pair so well with unexpected foods, and how to better understand your own palate—so you can choose wines you truly enjoy.

Professor Torrey Grant teaches the popular “Beer and Wine Appreciation” course at Syracuse University. He is the Wine Director for Leonetta and a retail consultant and educator for Wegmans and Liquor City. Known for his unconventional approach—like pairing Champagne with hotdogs—Grant blends deep expertise with a love for simple, approachable flavors.
