Join us on Sunday, March 22 at 1:30 PM for the lecture “Dorothy Day – Her Life and the Works of Mercy Today” by Martha Hennessy, the granddaughter of Dorothy Day. This program is part of the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art’s Spirit of Tara: A Celebration of Five Women Who Left a Lasting Legacy program series.The lecture will focus on the life and legacy of Dorothy Day, her conversion to Catholicism and the beginnings of the Catholic Worker movement, her social activism and connections to Staten Island, and the application of her philosophy today. Participants will learn about Dorothy Day through the eyes of her seventh grandchild who has continued to carry out this work in her grandmother’s tradition.
