Lecture: Behind the Screens: Conserving the Standards and Emblems of Sekigahara with Eddie Jose
Ephraim “Eddie” Jose is a renowned Filipino educator and conservator of Asian artworks. He trained for over a decade under the tutelage of Japan's most respected master restorers and has worked on major collections at museums around the world. In addition to his work on Chinese, Korean and Japanese paintings, Jose is also a leading expert on the conservation of Himalayan thangka paintings. He founded the Druk Foundation for Art Preservation and the Thangka Conservation Center in Thimphu and served as chief conservator of Asian paintings at the Honolulu Museum of Art from 1994 to 2010. Jose is currently a senior lecturer and conservator at the De La Salle University Center for Heritage Conservation in Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines.
