Join us for this Exclusive Invite-Only fundraising screening of American Sons at Flix Brewhouse in San Antonio on Thursday, August 28th. All fundraising efforts are in support of our Impact Tour aimed at supporting veteran communities and families across the country through visibility and distribution of American Sons. This event is exclusive to those invited at no cost but donations are highly encouraged.
AMERICAN SONS is a profoundly intimate documentary that traces the enduring scars of war through the story of Cpl. JV Villarreal, a Mexican-American Marine from Texas, who was killed in action in Afghanistan. Told through JV’s own raw, never-before-seen combat footage and the decade-long emotional journey of his Marine brothers and family, the film is both a tribute and a courageous exploration of grief, resilience, and love.
This evening will bring together veterans, military families, supporters, and community leaders for a powerful film and post-screening discussion. Whether you've already seen the film or are experiencing it for the first time, we hope you'll join us and invite others to be part of the conversation.
The American Sons Team has spent the last 18 months in communities across America. Every one of our 15 major screenings has confirmed one consistent truth: this film reaches veterans in ways traditional outreach simply can't. These screenings and panel discussions are where we honed our approach to working with Veterans, Veterans' families, and Veteran Service Organizations. The Texas and National Impact Tour takes this impact further, deeper, and directly addresses the veteran mental health crisis.
