Leaves and Layers

Join Sue Hazelwood, University of Illinois Master Gardener, and Ann Baker, NGC Environmental, Landscape Design, and Gardening Consultant, for a guided two-part garden experience. Walk with Sue as she identifies and shares insights on distinctive trees throughout the Libertyville property. Then tour the garden beds with Ann, from mature plantings to newly installed areas, highlighting native plants and their role in the landscape.

There are two tour times, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., with a limit of 30 people per tour.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your tour is to begin.

Allow 60-75 minutes for tour.

Limited seating on property. Be aware, there are stone steps, grass, and some inclines to negotiate.

Rain or shine, wear weather-appropriate clothing.

Lunch: Downtown Libertyville, Milwaukee Avenue business district, has many options for lunch. Special favorites are the Picnic Basket for sandwiches, The Board Room, Milwaukee Taco, and The Liberty (home town fave).
