This small-group groundwork session explores how horses and humans communicate through movement, energy and body language. The focus is less on “teaching the horse” and more on developing the human’s awareness — noticing what our body, posture and energy are communicating to the horse.
The morning will be split into two parts.
Part 1 – The foundation
During this session we will focus on our own position, space and energy, and how these influence our horse’s responses. To explore the impact of communication through movement, exercises will include leading, changes of direction and pace, mirroring, navigating obstacles and backing up.
Part 2 – The Conversation
In the second half we’ll link these exercises together into a flowing groundwork “course”, allowing you and your horse to practise a more fluid conversation through movement.
Throughout the session we’ll explore how our posture, intention and emotional state influence the horse, helping develop softer communication and a deeper sense of partnership.
