🚗 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Please park at the 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐭 (near the playground) and follow signs to The Learning Garden.
Hosted by the OSU Washington County Master Gardener Association, this event brings together community organizations dedicated to gardening, sustainability, and education—including Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation District, Backyard Habitat, Eco-School Network, Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom, Growing Gardens, Food Hero, and Tualatin Valley Soil & Water Conservation District.
🌼 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭:
• Hands-on kids activities like planting seeds, harvesting vegetables, exploring compost critters, and going on a garden “safari”.
• Educational experiences in the Pioneer Garden featuring plants used for rope, dye, and even licorice.
• Themed garden tours including Waterwise, Native Plants, Vegetables, Herb Spiral, Pioneer, and Deer-Resistant gardens.
• Opportunities to connect with community partners and learn about local programs and resources.
🌿 Take photos among the flowers, explore the gardens, and enjoy a walk through the beautiful Jenkins Estate grounds. Bring a picnic and spend time at the nearby playground after your visit! If you bring your pet, please be sure to have them on leash at all times.
