Join Dr David Turner for the next edition of his Learning From Legendary Coach series.

Joe Mazzulla is an unlikely NBA championship winning head coach. He is a relatively inexperienced and young coach, who never played himself at professional level in basketball. He has been described as a genius, a sicko, and weird… by his own players! Mazzulla’s unexpected developmental pathway and unusual coaching approach has nonetheless resulted in the highest win percentage of any coach in NBA history, after two seasons at the helm of the now reigning champions the Boston Celtics. This session explores the themes that might help to explain his astounding early career success, and considers what Mazzulla would need to do moving forwards in order to progress from being a rising coaching star to a fully confirmed legendary coaching status.
