About this Event
Kate Stonehouse is a qualified learning and development professional, with many years of experience managing and delivering learning in the public and third sector.
Kate draws on her experience as a practitioner and manager in, and of, teams delivering advice, information and support to people with learning disabilities, and as a parent to three young people, one of whom has a learning disability. That experience ensures that the learning is based on real, current and relevant situations and people, with a strong influence on informing practice in services and workplaces of learners.
This training session will explore:
- What is learning disability?
- What does the law say about supporting people with learning disabilities?
- What does the local picture look like for people with learning disabilities?
- Common errors and misconceptions, and good practice.
- How can I make the service I give as accessible as possible to people with learning disabilities?
NB: a second session, PART 2, will be held on 18.11.24 10am-1pm at The Museum of English Rural Life (RG1 5EX). here for details and the booking link.
