Learn to Solder Workshop

Join us for a beginner-friendly soldering class designed for anyone curious about basic electronics repair and hands-on making. No prior experience is needed—just patience, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
In this class, participants will learn:
* What soldering is and how it is used in repair projects
* How to safely handle a soldering iron and basic soldering tools
* Basic soldering techniques, including heating, applying solder, and creating a secure connection
* Common soldering mistakes and how to avoid them
* Safety practices for working with heat, tools, fumes, and small electronic components
* Safety will be covered at the beginning of class, and participants will be guided step by step throughout the activity.
Participants must be at least 15 years old. Anyone under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to attend.
This class is a prerequisite to any future soldering classes.
Please note that all registration fees are non-refundable.
10% of tickets go to the non-profit, Zero Waste San Diego.
🚲 Parking & Transportation
Please note there is a steep hill leading to the entrance.
🚎 Public Transit: We are a short walk from the trolley and several bus routes.
🚗 Free Street Parking: Two-hour free parking is available on Beech Street and 6th Avenue. Street parking is typically plentiful in the evenings.
🅿️ Paid Parking: Parking meters and nearby ACE Parking lots are available.
🚲 Bike-Friendly: Free bicycle storage is available onsite.
✨ We encourage attendees to carpool, take public transit, walk, or bike whenever possible.
