Join skaters from Green Mountain Roller Derby for an introduction to roller skating!
Whether it’s been a few years since you hit the rink or you’re looking to lace up your skates for the first time, this program is for you. Learn or practice your roller skating basics in a fun, supportive environment with optional group instruction, open rink time for skills practice, and the opportunity for 1-on-1 coaching from GMRD trainers. This course is open to skaters of all genders looking to learn the fundamentals behind any style of roller skating.
Loaner gear is available, but please bring your own mouthguard.
Trainers’ emphasis will be on quad skating skills but roller blades are also welcome.
GMRD’s Learn to Skate program will run throughout Spring & Summer 2026. We aim to host one practice per week, pending space availability. At a minimum, two practices will be offered per month. Session dates for each month will be announced as far in advance as possible.
