🏒 HIP (Hockey Initiation Program) – Learn to Skate & Learn to Play!
Ages 4–10 | No experience needed
Looking for a fun way to introduce your child to hockey and skating?
Join us for HIP (Hockey Initiation Program), a beginner-friendly program designed for kids with little or no skating experience. Players build confidence on the ice while learning hockey fundamentals in a fun, welcoming environment.

🕕 6:00 PM–6:45 PM
📍 Manitowoc County Ice Center
🗓 October through March
⭐ First session begins Monday, October 5th, 2026
🎉 First night FREE!
Kids will learn:
⛸ Balance & skating skills
🏒 Puck handling & passing
🥅 Shooting & stopping
❄️ Edges, forward/backward skating
🏆 Cross-ice scrimmages as skills progress
Gear Info:
• Bring gloves and dress warmly
• Helmets and equipment available
• Full sets of gear available to rent
HIP is a great first step toward MCYHA’s Mite (6U/8U) hockey program — or simply a great way to build skating confidence and have fun.
You can start any week throughout the season!
