Salisbury Musical Society (SMS) is hosting a study day on learning to sing. This will be a fun day on tips about reading music, how it all fits together, the mysteries of rhythms, pitching tricky intervals and understanding the difference between simple and compound time. As well as exploring the theoretical side of music, there will also be plenty of chances to sing and all music will be provided.David Halls (Director of Music, Salisbury Cathedral), the conductor of SMS, will lead the day and will be assisted by Hilary Jones, the widely respected vocal coach for the Cathedral’s choristers.
Venue: Walker Hall, Leehurst Swan School, Campbell Road, Salisbury, SPA 3BQ
Date: Saturday 1st March 2025, 10:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Cost: Free for SMS members and accompanied children (16-18) but you still need to book; £10 for non-SMS members.
