About this Event

In visions of our lives now and in the future, we hope for and create the room to be ourselves with one another, however we choose to. The capacity to clothe ourselves and our communities, offers us a new form of care and self-determination.

In this spirit, Sonemani and Appuni will be traveling to one of Sonemani's ancestral homelands, Laos, to learn traditional Lao weaving! In order to raise the funds towards this residency, we will be offering a limited set of sewing classes <3

Join us for the first time at Waveform Ceramics for a sewing class for adult confident beginners. Confident beginners means you know how to thread the machine and sew basic straight seams. The rest, I'll teach you!

In this workshop, you'll learn the traditional Korean sewing technique that uses patchwork fabrics to make our altar cloth. You're invited to bring woven textiles that hold significance to you, if you wish to incorporate it into your altar cloth. This is not required, as we'll provide all the materials needed!
