LEARN TO SEW: 8-WEEK SEWING SERIES WITH MAX
Have you wanted to learn how to sew, but never quite knew where to start?
This fall, professional tailor Max is teaching an 8-week, hands-on sewing series at Soul & Soil. You’ll build real skills from the ground up, starting with hand sewing, moving into machine sewing, and using what you learn to create projects you can actually take home and use.
$225 FOR THE FULL 8-WEEK SERIES
Includes 16 hours of instruction, three projects, and approximately $110 worth of sewing supplies and project materials.
PAYMENT PLAN AVAILABLE: 3 PAYMENTS OF $75
Registration is required and the class is limited to 10 students.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
We’ll begin with hand-sewing techniques including running stitch, gathering, backstitch, hemming, buttons, snaps, hooks and eyes, and more. Then we’ll move into machine sewing, including threading a machine, winding a bobbin, machine basting, and learning plain, lapped, and French seams.
WHAT YOU’LL MAKE
• Wrist pincushion
• Handmade tote bag
• Color-block hooded sweatshirt
WHAT YOU’LL TAKE HOME
Each student will receive a sewing reference binder and their own sewing equipment kit with fabric scissors, thread snips, measuring tape, seam ripper, tailor’s chalk, pins, needles, thread, seam gauge, thimbles, needle threader, and more.
You’ll finish the series with new skills, completed projects, and tools you can keep using long after the class ends.

Max is a professional tailor with more than a decade of sewing experience. Sewing has become both a craft and a way for them to express personal style, and Max genuinely enjoys helping others learn those skills for themselves.
Whether you have never used a sewing machine before or already know a few basics, Max will meet you where you are and help you build from there.
