About this Event
Would you like to try a more expressive approach to painting? This fun, hands‑on workshop explores the bold and energetic painting style of Jackson Pollock.
Known as a key figure in the Abstract Expressionist movement, Pollock developed his famous drip technique, pouring, splashing, and dripping paint onto a flat surface to create dynamic, spontaneous artworks. In this session, you’ll experiment with movement, rhythm, and mark‑making, working on a horizontal surface rather than an easel.
This is a relaxed and playful workshop, supervised by our art tutor, Marina, and is suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced artists keen to try something different.
Please bring:
- Acrylic paint pots in different colours
- Wooden sticks and a selection of brushes (including old or worn ones)
- Pots or containers for water
- Larger sheets of paper, canvas, or canvas boards
- Old clothes or an apron (paint will splatter!)
Come ready to experiment, get a little messy, and enjoy a lively and creative morning.
This summer term, we’re introducing a new series of four individual 2.5‑hour workshops on Wednesday afternoons. Each session focuses on a different subject theme (see dates and titles below), so no two workshops are the same and you can choose to book one or several.
What Do I Need:
Please bring oil or acrylic paints, suitable brushes, turpentine if using oils, a palette, and a larger canvas or canvas board.
All our courses run based on a minimum number of participants.
If you are no longer able to attend, please contact us at your earliest convenience. Cancellations received within 2 days of the course start date are non-refundable.
Missed sessions by individual students are non-refundable.
