Join us at Coastal Bubbles + Wine Bar for a relaxed and engaging introduction to Mahjong—one of the world’s most beloved social games. Whether you’re completely new or just looking to refresh your skills, this beginner-friendly class will guide you through the basics, from tiles and gameplay to strategy and flow.
Led in a fun, supportive setting, you’ll learn how to play while enjoying your first glass of wine or beer. It’s the perfect way to gather, sip, and try something new—no experience required, just bring your curiosity.
Carolyn is a mahjong player and certifed OMM teacher based in Jamaica Plain, MA. She’s been playing since she was a teenager, when a friend’s mom taught her how to play. She teaches both American and Chinese mahjong.
You’ll be learning all of the basics of American Mahjong…tiles, how to read the card, dealing, the Charleston, etc… Once we go through the basics, we’ll play a game!
