Ready to take the next step in your ice climbing progression? This three-day Learn to Lead Ice Climbing course is designed for climbers who are comfortable top-roping and seconding ice and want to develop the skills, judgment, and confidence to lead safely and independently.
Over three full days, we’ll cover:
• Lead ice climbing techniques and movement
• Efficient screw placement and clipping
• Rope management and stance organization
• Belaying a lead climber on ice
• Risk assessment, decision-making, and communication
• Building confidence through coached mileage on real ice
Instruction takes place on classic ice climbs in the North Conway area and is taught by an AMGA-certified Ice Instructor. All technical ice climbing gear is provided unless otherwise noted.
This course is ideal for climbers looking to transition from following to leading, refine fundamentals, and gain experience in a supportive, professional learning environment.
