Moana Roller Derby—Tauranga’s first and only league, celebrating 15 years—is recruiting new skaters!
Roller Derby is an exciting, global sport that’s athletic, empowering, and perfect for building lifelong friendships in a supportive environment.
No skating experience? No worries. 💥 Gear is available, and this course takes you from learning basic skating to joining the team at your own pace.
Details:
• Start: Monday 15th September | 6–7:30pm
• Where: Revolution Sports Centre
• Cost: $10/week (gear hire extra)
• Who: All genders, 16+
First 12 weeks (non-contact):
• Skating skills, fitness, derby knowledge
• Teamwork and confidence on wheels
After basics, move into 2 training days/week (Thursday TBC).
Not sure if roller derby is the right fit for you? No problem! We invite you to join us to watch our open scrimmage on Saturday the 13th of September 2025 at 630pm. This is the perfect opportunity to experience the excitement of roller derby firsthand, meet our team, and see what it’s all about in a fun, welcoming environment.
Whether you’re completely new to the sport or just looking to learn more, watching a scrimmage can be a great way to familiarise yourself with the game and its dynamic community. No commitment necessary- just come by, enjoy the action, and see if roller derby is your next adventure.
