It's time again for our wonderful home-school camp at Leanganook (Mount Alexander). Meeting in the same place as our last few camps may offer us some familiarity, as well as the chance to deepen our connection to this beautiful place and each other. This camp gives us the opportunity to make visible and immerse ourselves in the creative, connected community that we are. How lucky we are to have such a vibrant home-school community!Tuesday will be the structured day with activities and offerings (the best day for a drop-in). Camping will be from Monday -Wednesday. We will have a shared Indian-themed dinner on the Monday night.
Please get in touch with an activity you would like to facilitate, or post on this Facebook event page if you’d like to co-create or co-facilitate something with others. The previous camp we had one of the younger people run a workshop that was valued by many children and parents…nobody is too young to bring something to share!
On Monday afternoon we will have a plant walk with everyone's favourite ecologist, Karl. This has been a very well-received offering in the past. We will also have the first of three knot-tying sessions with Luke. On Tuesday, local legends Christy and Luke will be leading circus. We will also have our nature connection session, where we will level up with some challenging tasks for those who are keen, as well as fun and games for all. We are incredibly lucky to have such generous people in our community who are so willing to share their gifts, skills and interests. A big thank you in advance!
Bring yourselves and, if you feel inclined, music instruments, bikes, sport equipment, camp tables, marquees and grandparents!
If you can't camp, you are welcome to come during the day.
There is no cost to camp at Leanganook. Facilities include drop toilets (no showers), and running water; sites are unpowered and first come best dressed, but there is generally plenty of room.
If you would like to contribute, please contact us with your ideas. No offering is too big or too small. As always, this camp is what we make it!
