About this Event
LyCiG Conferences Across the Diocese
We are delighted to announce that multiple LyCiG conferences will be taking place throughout our diocese in 2026. These events provide a valuable opportunity for members to come together, learn, and grow within an inspiring framework.
We sincerely hope you will be able to join us at one of these conferences and be part of an enriching experience.
Why Attend?
The LyCiG programme has gained recognition for its effectiveness and positive impact. By participating, you will experience a well attested initiative that promises to inspire.
This course is run by the national LyCiG team who have years of experience and who's help can lead to real change. Results show that with their support parishes typically grow 10% above the national average, with 18% more under-18s year-on-year. This is incredibly encouraging for our worshipping communities.
A Two-Day Conference
Conferences will run over multiple days but we will also support with follow up sessions held in person and on zoom. Leading your Church into Growth is a transformative process. The follow-on sessions are designed to help teams continue to cultivate hope and embed their learning across their unique context.
The Colchester and Bradwell Areas would like to invite teams of between five and eight people per parish or benefice. The Barking Area would like to run the sessions with slightly smaller parish groups of between two and three people. In all cases, each group is asked to include an ordained leader (the incumbent, associate vicar, or team vicar) to support the decision making, alongside a team of key lay people. This collaborative approach to training, and journeying towards growth together, is what makes this training programme both sucessful and enjoyable.
One person should make the booking on behalf of their team, selecting the number of tickets depending on the number of team members attending.
